A Brief Introduction
No, that’s not me in the photo. I just liked the scenery. Yay for stock images!
Hello, there! It’s very nice to meet you.
If you didn’t know, and why would you, this is in fact the FOURTH blog I’ve started.
You read that right. This one is #4.
Why haven’t I stuck with any of the others? You may ask. Trust me, I’ve asked myself the same question many times over.
So here’s a little background on the other three blogs:
The first one I started when I was 12. I think it was on Google’s Blogspot and I honestly don’t remember why I started it or what the main point was. I honestly can’t even tell you what I wrote about or what the name of it was. But I’m sure it’s still out there somewhere. This is the internet, after all.
The second one began a year ago. I had recently dove head first into a fitness, health, and wellness journey and wanted to document it. I wrote somewhere around 5-7 total posts, including a couple at the beginning of this year. But the theme was too narrow for me to feel like I could realistically spend my time writing about it all.
The third one I copied all my posts from the first one to and then added a similar story about how “this time it’ll be different.” Since I can’t remember the name of that blog either, clearly it was not different.
So I rebranded.
I think I was too narrow-minded before. Trying to fit myself into these small versions of my whole and only allowing one type of outlet per facet of my personality. But that’s not who I am.
This is not a stock photo. This is a selfie. Of me.
I am a 23 year old woman. I was born in Corvallis, Oregon where I lived until I was a whopping two months old. My parents then moved us to Eugene, OR where they attended grad school, had another baby, bought a house, two dogs, and eventually moved away 13 years later.
I spent my high school years in a western suburb of Portland.
After I got married I moved to…an eastern suburb of Portland (wow!)
We hated it after the first 6 months and moved to Cali instead.
I wish I could say I’m one of those people who’s family has lived in Oregon for generations and none would ever dare step foot on California soil, but that’s unfortunately not the case (though I really did my best to resist moving here for quite some time.)
Luckily for me, my husband is from a small section of California that has the most Pacific Northwestern vibe of anywhere in the state. Aside from the lack of constant clouds and rain, it feels like I’m back home.
I know what you’re thinking. Layli, I thought you said this blog was about your multi-faceted personality not a boring history lesson.
Calm down, I’m getting to that part.
